»5º MEMORIAL FOR THE CYCLIST CARLOS CABRERA CERVERA. Winner Ibon Zugasti (AZYSA)

The 5º CARLOS CABRERA CERVERA Memorial Cycle Race took place last Saturday 2nd May at 15:20. The race was divided into the categories: elite, under 23 and senior.

Alcora Cycle Club and CERACASA organised the event for the fifth consecutive year, bringing together a large number of cycling enthusiasts in Castellon.

This year the event maintained its international nature with the participation of the whole Russian team the “Lokomotiv”. There was an excellent turn out for the start, from the Plaza de España in Alcora, at the stated date and time and was representative of the race itself.

After a hard battle, the veteran racer from AYSA, Ibon Zugasti, recent champion of the ‘Volta a Castelló”, managed to win the race. His 36 years didn’t hinder him and he surprised the rest of the competitors with his well-planned and intelligent racing strategy.
